Scouting Today: Building Tomorrow’s Leaders

A Legacy of Values

This year the parents of San Diego and Imperial Counties have looked for the best available resource to help raise their children.  Once again tens of thousands of them have chosen programs of the Boy Scouts of America to teach more than life skills like cooking, personal management and wilderness survival, but how to be the best citizens of their homes, communities and world.  That same decision has been made hundreds of thousands of times over the last 100 years has made us the areas most influential youth serving organization. Please see our 2010 Annual Report.

The strength of the program in 1910 lay in the dedicated volunteers who gave of their time and resources.  Likewise, today, the thousands of Scoutmasters, Den Leaders, Counselors and other volunteers continue to teach and mentor and it is their Scout Spirit which fuels and drives the movement. A brief history of Scouting in San Diego can be found here.
