Our Legacy of Values campaign continues to raise funds needed for two key projects to serve the Scouts and Scouters of San Diego and Imperial counties:

  1. 1) A new Scout Resource Center, built on land owned by the Council

  2. 2) Improvements to Mataguay Scout Ranch

Every day, Scouts and Scouters find their way to the Council Resource Center. From the moment that they enter into the Leadership Lobby, visitors see the heritage of Scouting in San Diego through the display of memorabilia as well as interactive displays. They also learn about how they can be a part of the nation’s largest youth serving organization. Our award winning Scout Shop provides scouts, parents and leaders with uniforms, advancement supplies and Scouting materials.

A Legacy of Values

Mataguay Scout Ranch, located in the hills near Warner Springs, having serving youth for more than half a century is also in line for remodeling and modernization.  In addition to the traditional Scoutcraft programs of swimming, pioneering, and orienteering, today’s Scouts look for classes in Composite Materials, Robotics and Geocaching. They look for higher High Adventure with mountainboarding, rappelling and mountain bikes.  As our Cub Scout outdoor program continues to increase; Packs need appropriate settings for family camping, with program centers age just for them. Mataguay will meet those needs and many more, with facilities for outdoor education, fitness programs and religious retreats.
